In the mood for color

Believe it or not, inspiration does not always have romantic roots. Sometimes it just comes from looking at something simple and admiring its colors, at least this is how it works for me.

We went to a craft shop the other day and I stopped by their buttons. OMG! I love the all!

But one should be modest in your desires. I decided on yummy looking caramel colored buttons and simple but gorgeous purple ones.

I ran back to the yarn section and got some yarn too. That's how our new cup cozies were born!

This one reminds me of chilly mornings, looking through the window and cuddling in a blanket with some warm milk and honey:

The next one is great for a cup of lavender tea with a lavender shortbread cookie:

 Turquoise is simply my favorite color. We just came back from the Monument Valley and Grand Сanyon and we saw so many beautiful jewelry creations that were for sale at the local tribal exchange posts. So I am always adding just a little bit of turquoise color to brighten my day.

Plush pastels and morning coffee

I just finish making these new cup cozies and I just love them. The soft pastel colors are making them so feminine and pretty!

When I was making them I was thinking of a blooming garden covered with a sudden snow and a girl looking through the window with a cup of hot coffee in her hands. She is in a warm house but it's cold outside. She is not in a hurry today and can just relax with her cup of coffee and a book by the fireplace.

 Oh, a cat! I missed a cat!

The furry ball is right there, next to her. Just sleeping tight and seeing sweet dreams about the warm summer and lazy days in the garden.

It is all going to happen soon, it's October already!  I can not wait for the cozy time to begin.

What handmade gifts will you give to your friends and family this year?
I am stitching an alphabet pillow for a little girl, I am making some cup cozies for my coffee loving friends and I am making a dozens of little hearts to hang on our tree this year.

Reusable knitted coffee cup cozy Pumpkin

There was a nice giveaway of 16 different items from a different sellers with a "Pick your own gift" idea. Our knitted Pumpkin cozy was among those 16.Unfortunately I did not save a link to that giveaway but I collect whatever people say about our cozy. So here it is:

- That mug cozy is too cute!

- I love the mug cozy! One of my favorite things to do in the fall/winter is sit outside in the early early morning with a cup of coffee or tea and a warm cozy blanket, a mug cozy would go along with that perfectly!

- The mug cozy is so unique. I love it. As a needleworker, I can appreciate all the work which goes into it.

- All the listings are wonderful but I am smitten by the mug cozy by SocksandMittens...sweet!!

- I really covet that pumpkin mug cozy, makes me feel all warm and comforted just looking at it. I could even be persuaded to stop mourning summer if I won it ;-)

- I fall in love with those mug cozys every time I see one!! Love the color too!

- The mug cozy in orange is absolutely adorable and would be pretty useful too. I can't tell you how many times I've had to grab hot mugs with a towel or potholder to keep from burning myself!

- I'm thinking that the pumpkin mug cozy would look really fab around my Starbucks cup!

- I'm in love with the orange knitted coffee mug coozie... so adorable. Sure would come in handy on these chilly fall nights when I'm sipping my chai tea ;)
