New Year resolutions game for the party

Have you thought of your New Year resolutions yet?
I haven't decided yet on mine but I already have something in mind.

For the last couple of years we have this fun game of picking just one New Year resolutions from a list. Since there is an element of surprise present for everyone it is fun to entertain your guests at a  New Years Eve party.
It works like a fortune cookie. Make a list of resolutions, print it and cut it into little strips about the same size.
Fold it at least 4 times and place in a pretty box. Let your guests pick one! Just remember to make about 50% more resolutions than you have planned guests, you may have some unexpected friends to stop by.

I  am playing in this game too and for the second year in a row the resolution I picked for myself was: Eat more vegetables. Gosh! Why not the Caribbean trip one? Oh maybe, I am doomed and should really watch my diet :)
We will see what I pick this year.

I made a list of resolutions for you to print. Add your own and have some fun!

Have a happy New Year,

Tanya

Where in the world?

I love to travel and I love to take photos from the places I go around the world. So I thought it might be fun to play a guessing game on my blog: can you tell where this photo was taken?

These goats don't have the choice of grass so they are climbing trees to get some food. The whole herd was climbing the trees, actually.
This photo was taken with a disposable camera available at this time so forgive me for the quality of picture.

I will give you the right answer next Sunday!

Halloween preparation: games

It is hard to organize a good party, especially when you are trying to make it different from what you had before.

Usually our Halloween parties are pretty active but this year we thought of little more quiet time. There is still time to fit a couple of more ideas in a program but so far we have just a couple of games and dancing on a list.
Here it is:

1. Drinking game:
We are not going to use much alcohol in the drinks for this game but it will be fun. We are going to have tricks and treats. The tricks are yucky looking things and the treats are funny looking soda and juice.

2. Fortune telling:
These paper predictions are already made and sitting in a bowl until you pick one out. I hope I will get something nice, something different then "Eat more vegetables" :)

Also, madam Zara is going to stop by to see your future. She is bringing her three magical candles with her to reveal the past, present and future.3. Halloween gift exchange:
Gifts are always fun. Even when it is a trick inside. Lucky you, you can exchange your gift two times with the person next to you if you do not like what you got.

4. Costume presentation:
Each person will have to give a short presentation about their costume. This will be a surprise for the shy guests. Then we have a tons of fun. We have made some Halloween videos where we took guests pictures and added them to the characters in a video. We had so much fun watching it :)

So this is the plan for now. I am still gathering ideas - please let me know if you have one!

Halloween wonderful

You will not believe what I was doing for the last week. Please, guess ... oh, please, oh please!

You have no idea?

Oh, well, I'll tell you. My friend and I suddenly got that Halloween rush (again) and we are planning the best Halloween Party ever!

At least, we hope :)Our annual Halloween parties became a big hit already among our friends. Usually it takes about 30 to 35 people to party and we have about 4 hours of pure fun! This is the only time in a year for us when we don't have to be ourselves and can wear strange or silly wigs and costumes.
This 4 hours is filled with laughs, games, great food and music and this all is just for us!We are already working on a program (it is going to be fun, I promise! :) and there is really a lot of things to do.
So I am busy now with planning, decorating and adapting games to our taste, and I am still not sure who I am going to be this year... kind of like the idea of a can can girl :)I will keep you posted on updates. Oh, and if you like any particular games to play during parties like these please let me know, I am always looking for a new ideas!
