A grass for your pet

If you are a pet owner like us you probably purchase wheat grass at the pet store from time to time. Wheat grass can be too expensive sometimes so I tried plating it myself. It worked perfect so I wanted to share this with you.
Purchase some wheat berries at the health food shop.
Soak them overnight, rinse and plant in a shallow pot with a drainage hole. I covered my seeds with about 1/2" of soil on top. Water it thoroughly and place in a sunny spot (no direct sunlight). Mist it daily and watch the little green spears appear in about 5 days!
The grass will live about 1 month with proper care. I do not let my dogs to get to the pot because they are getting so excited that they pull the grass out in seconds. So I cut little bouquets with sharp scissors and tie them with one stem. My babies are very happy!

Princess and a Pea

How come your dog picks up some habits you never taught her? Does it depend on breed or is it build in?
Our little shih tzu girl became a young lady and I guess she remembers the story about Princess and a pea :) A girl just can't sleep right if there is not enough of pillows under neath!

I wish she would remember her manners during her Royal lunch :)

Our mornings

What is the best place for dog to sleep?

Of course, it is on her Daddies shoulders!

Little Ruby thinks nothing can beat:

the early (4 AM) wake up,

then quick refreshing walk (it's still kind of chilly at nights),

followed by a delicious snack (duck jerky please, the one from Costco. She might sell everything for it:) not that she has much)

and finally, 2 to 3 hours nap. Yes, on Daddy's shoulders. Mom's are not wide enough :)

The signs of spring

There are signs of spring everywhere. Even though it is still cold at night the trees and plants can feel the Sun's movement and we finally have some buds on our lemon tree.I planted some spring bulbs in December and there is finally signs of life on the hyacinth.
Ranunculus was a new plant for me to overwinter, but it seems to be a success. I can already see some small leaves coming through.
We are still feeling much more comfortable indoors with cup a of hot soup but we are starting to do small things in the garden. It is so enjoyable!

But someone small thinks there is a long way until spring! So she is curling up somewhere in a corner like a little fluffy ball :)

Puppy's mini Birthday

Ruby is 3 Month old!

She is getting more and more looking like an adult dog but she is still a puppy :) Chewing everything she could possibly get, chasing Jenny (our older dog), playing and sleeping a lot. Oh, and lets not forget, she is having a very good appetite! She likes whatever is in a Jenny's bowl the best or just about anything she can find to put in her BIG mouse.

I think, if she would be a little girl she would try on my high heels shoes right now and would use my lipstick :) So curious about everything!

And that's our baby Ruby :)

Two weeks together

2 weeks are gone and we learned a lot about each other. Ruby is a very sweet little girl when she is sleepy or just woke up. She is so cuddly and lovable! But wait until it is time to play and better be ready to catch her !!! Also, she got some new teeth and she is not afraid to use them! :)

I thought she might need last name, too, so here it is - Ruby Trouble :)

But we love her to death :)

By the way, who would of think that puppy can change so much in just 2 weeks! She already looks like a miniature young dog! I am glad I am taking so many photos of her because pretty soon we all will forget these sweet little puppy's days full or rose petals and sweet dreams:)

Please welcome baby Ruby!

She moved with us last Saturday.

She is cute and cuddly and real tiny!

She is playing in a garden with rose petals and still rocking from side to side when walking but she is developing really quick!

For the last 4 days she learned:

when somebody says Ruby than it's her,

what NO mean ( when chewing on shoes or wires or books)

how to get back home when outside,

how to get to a bed using a doggies ramp,

and get back down!

claim to the 2 first steps,

chaise our older dog

make everyone in a house busy 24/7 :)

Oh! Did I mentioned that she is just 6 weeks old?

Getting a puppy

We finally decided to get a new puppy! We even went to see the cute 18-days babies shit zhus today! But now we can not decide which one to choose, the black & white or the brown & white one.

Help! Which one would you choose?
