A day at the lavender farm

Last week I was so excited to hear about lavender festival here in AZ. The summers are so hot that I would never think it could grow here. The lavender fields in WA state were beautiful so I wanted to see it again.

The Red Rock Lavender farm is located in Concho, AZ. The 4 hours drive towards Show Low is not particularly easy because of distance but we drove through beautiful pine forest and meadows scenery and enjoyed it.

We got there in the afternoon and were just in time for a painting demo presentation by watercolor artist Catherine Sickafoose. What beautiful paintings!
Lavender blooms were beautiful and fragrant there on the field.
I cut a small bouquet, took some photos and was very happy with my day.
I bought a small lavender plant to plant at home hoping that it might survive the heat. So it was quietly resting in our cup holder on a way back  home. This whole plant is so fragrant, it filled our car with a lovely aroma.

A great souvenir to bring back home !

Vintage watercolor, An Ice Skating Lady

I just was not able to pass on this painting. Something is so touching about this little lady ice skating in the wind. I don't know who's work it is or the name of the painting and was wondering if any of you are able to help me.
I can see that it's a limited edition and was made in 1983 but I can not recognize the painter's name. I will love this painting even if I will not know it but I am curious. Please let me know if you recognize it.

Thank you to everyone who contacted me regarding this painting. I now know that this is the work of Pat Buckley Moss. I found 2 previous editions of this painting Solitary skater online but mine is slightly different and I still did not find the identical one. I assume this might be the third edition, or maybe, fourth? Please let me know if you know anything about this - thank you!

Rainy day and beautiful things - Babayagada Store

I love rainy days. A rainy day in a city is a source of my inspiration, I love to wake up with a sounds of drops on a window and see the gray sky. A cup of coffee and I am ready to paint!

But when it is dry and sunny and not much you can do outside because of the hot Arizona summer I love to browse through Etsy's search window to see if I can find some new illustrations to add to my collection of a Rainy Day.

Last year in one hot & humid day I was happy to find this mixed media artwork from Babayagada store which I love so much that immediately bought it!

The artist's name is Lena Yampolsky, she works with a number of customers as an illustrator & textile print artist. She is selling her wonderful prints & cards on Etsy at the Babayagada Store.

Her works are amazing - see it yourself!
