New at socksandmittens, Fall 2014

This fall we are adding some new items to our collection at socksandmittens.

 

They are shawls, bolero's and some lovely gloves in pretty colors for ladies and some lighter versions for our men's fingerless gloves in wool and acrylic blend yarn. 

 

They are mostly made as a single pair but might be available for a custom order so please ask us if you'd like a similar item in a different size or color. 

We are already getting booked with custom orders, it seems that the holiday shopping season is already on!

Best gift for men

I sold my last pair of black fingerless gloves this morning and noticed this comment my customer made: "I cannot find gloves like this anywhere, and I like to wear them when I play guitar in cold spaces. Thank you!! :)"

So I thought one more time of how useful this type of gloves are. They are great for a fisherman or a hunter,

they will warm your hands up while you are driving in cold weather,

the outdoor photographer will find out that this is a blast.

It was historically used for the sellers of outdoor markets in Europe but it's got a different use now. If you wants to do things outdoors and want your hands to be warm but still need the use of your fingers, these are the gloves for you!

I am not even mentioning typing at a cold office or sometimes just being in a cold house. Have warm hands and a warm heart!

Christmas in July

One of our great customers, Debbie, contacted us recently with an order of man's cable knit socks she would like to give as a gift for Christmas. I love custom orders because this way we know exactly what a customer wants!

We worked on a design for a couple of days and came up with a new one.

We were trying to make our new man's socks look manly but comfortable and nice looking all at the same time. I am lucky to have two male critics in my home, my husband and my son. Everything we create for men to wear are passing their fussy inspection :)

Anyway, the socks came out great and Debbie also liked them. She was also very generous with sharing her Christmas butter ball cookie recipe with me. She is makes them every Christmas. I am very enthusiastic about cooking so of course, I baked them as soon as possible. Mmmm... best cookies ever!


They did not last very long, I baked late in the evening and they were gone the next morning! That's what cookies are for, right? :) Definitely a keeper recipe!

What a pleasant surprise we had this morning! Our gloves were featured on front page of Etsy and were sold to a great buyer from Sweden!



I am already packing them and they will be on it's way to Europe in an hour.
